Keli’s Story
Surgeries: Lipisuction®, both legs (2 surgeries)
Keli works in the Currency Services Department at Disneyland. During her teenage years she noticed that her legs did not “match” her upper body. Diuretics and vein procedures were not effective to treat her lipedema pain and swelling. She experienced intense hip pain and heaviness in her legs that made it difficult to walk. It was hard for her to find pants that fit her legs and torso. She avoided wearing shorts and skirts. Conservative therapy, diet, and exercise did not improve her lipedema symptoms. She came to see Dr. Granzow in her mid-40s after decades struggling with lipedema swelling and pain in both her legs. Lipisuction® surgeries provided effective relief from painful swelling. Besides a better quality of life, she now has a positive outlook for her future.
